Down Delicacy Lane

Ever wondered what exciting dishes you could have in Ghana? Well, sit relax and sip juice as I walk you down the food  four food lanes in  my country.
Most of which you'll find, not only mouthwatering but satisfying.

Red-red, a native delicacy in Ghana is prepared using beans which is boiled to broth and it's mostly garnished with red palm oil. This is one of the healthiest local delicacies that would make your tummy crave more.
Due to the less spice additives, it's natural a meal and an ideal one for people on a diet and vegetarians alike.
To have the real feel of red-red, be sure to have it with ripely fried plantain.

Next is...

Waakye. Yeah I know you must have heard, read or tasted this dish. It's the most common and most delicious creativity of Ghana. The secret recipe to this sumptuous meal is just rice and red beans. 
It originally came from the northern region but has been adopted by all. Though many have different ways of  preparing this meal, the Muslims remain the real chefs.

Banku and tilapia. If you looking forward for an all-day, all-meal, it's banku with tilapia. If you happen to see the grill in the streets of Accra busy and smoking, be sure to know that's a tilapia in the grilling  process.
Here's how it's grilled.
You first grind ginger, garlic, salt and onions into paste; cut the chest part of the tilapia and fill it up with the paste and left overnight.
This is to allow the spices filled in settle.
Next is to grill by turning the fish from side to side and checking the texture to be sure it doesn't burn.
When ready, you can have it with vegetables of your liking.
It can also be taken with banku.
Banku is a dish by people in Ghana who live by the coast. It's a made from a driven mixture of corndough and cassava dough. It's mostly taken with okro, light , groundnut and palm but soups alike but to have that real feel, I'll advice pepper with grilled tilapia.
